Each year, a group of veterans goes to the local 5th grade classes and talk about the US Flag and its meaning.
These veterans relate to the students the importance of proper flag etiquette, demonstrate the proper way to fold a flag, and hopefully impress on the students the immense respect due to the US Flag as a representative symbol of all the freedoms we, as Americans, have as well as the cost of keeping these freedoms for ourselves and the future generations.
Each student is then provided with a handout brochure that gives an overview of the Federal Flag Code.
The VFW also makes flags available to business, schools, and others. Please contact Leo Mann Post #8671 at the address/phone below for more information.
